So far so good. This oven replaced a 15 year old Frigidaire that just stopped working. My only complaint (and this isn't just GE) ... why are all the manufacturers NOT making appliances in black anymore? Our whole kitchen has black appliances and finding new appliances in black is really hard. This model is "black stainless" so it was close but it is annoying that everything is the sterile ugly stainless steel. Now onto the oven. It cooks very well and I love having the simple WiFi connection to send alerts when things are done or ready. My wife has made scones, cookies, and lots of other things in the few weeks we have owned this oven. They all seem to bake evenly which is all you can ask for from an oven. The cook top works great as well. We considered induction but it just wasn't worth the extra money in our opinion. But time will be the ultimate test. Hopefully this oven last more than 10 years.

The range is very nice with some very good features. The app capabilities are extremely helpful! However, there are two issues I have with the range. One, the black rubber around the stove top is annoying! It catches all dust and the stovetop cleaner sticks to it until you wipe it with a wet cloth. Two, the Air Fry feature is not the best. My cheap countertop Airfyer works better than this one.

[Employee of ge_appliances] The hard plastic strip between the controls and the range top is almost better than the soft rubber that was continuously wrinkling up on the previous Cafe range we had, though the hard plastic is staying in place, the texture of it catches lint from wiping it clean. and the bottom pan drawer is flimsy, as far as cooking, it is a decent range with some good features.

Great but lacking some features

Just replaced a top of the line LG range which was unreliable with constant electronic failures. This GE has a great air fryer and I tried it and it works very well. Pork chops crispy outside and juicy tender inside. The eyes simmer very well and heat up quickly. Three things I dislike. I cannot stand not being able to move oven temp up or down a few degrees without having to use a keypad to punch in the exact number. That is horrible. It needs up or down. I do not like that the warming eye is not adjustable high or low warm. I used to use my old range warmer eye to rise bread on low warm. The ove does not have a proof temp for rising bread dough. Other than that, I like how it cooks. Also for future repairs, the convection fan is easy to access on the back of the oven. The engineer was awesome who designed it that way. The drawer on the bottom feels thin and cheap, not sturdy like older ranges of even 10 to 12 years ago. They probably did that to save cost. It did not come with a paper manual which stinks, again so they could save cost. Very pleased with how the eye temp cooks so evenly. It fried perfect bacon on the stove top which many ranges won't do.

Have only had a few months and already needed a new control panel. Apparently this model doesn't have an internal cooling fan, so the external area where the control panel is gets extremely hot when the oven is on. Hoping this new control panel lasts....

Nice after a week, aggrivating leveling legs

I am happy with the fit, finish, and functionality of this range. The one negative I have experiences is the plastic leveling legs. They are not as precise as I would have liked, and get kind of wobbly if you need, say, half an inch of lift. It's not really a big deal now that the rang is installed, but one of my legs got wobbly and crooked during install. I would have paid a bit more for a higher-quality leveling setup.

Great Oven/ Poor Cleaning Option

We have purchased our GRS600AVDS over a year ago. I am happy to report, that we have not experienced any issues to date. We have used all the features available to be certain that they work as advertised, and expected. However, there is an exception. This would fall under the category of Steam Cleaning. There is no comparison between Steam Cleaning, and an oven that provides Self Cleaning. We have used the Steam Cleaning feature only once. I don't like it. The steam is supposed to loosen the food, and being easily wiped away. Unfortunately, you have to wait for the oven to cool. By doing this, the debris will harden, and you would have accomplished nothing. Where as with a Self Cleaning oven, the debris turns to ash, and the ash is easily wiped up when the oven is in the cool state. In addition, there have been reports that the steam interferes with the circuitry. Be aware that there is no seal around the oven door window. Which means, if you apply any cleaner that seeps into the corners will appear on the opposite of the glass. This requires to remove the door from the oven, and open the oven door frame. Be certain to remove the metal trim at the bottom of the door first. The Air Fryer feature is a plus. That was the selling point for us. I grew tired of dragging out the table top air fryer. However, I would not say that it is a efficient as the table top fryer because with the oven, you are dealing with a larger space. Needless to say, it take a bit longer for the food to brown. Convection setting: This past Thanksgiving, I had placed a twenty four pound turkey under this settings. What was supposed to take four hours, took two and a half. Oh yes, there was stuffing in the turkey. Trust me, I doubted it myself. I even applied a food thermometer into the breast to check. It was indeed done. There wasn't any pink meat to be seen. Keep in mind, this turkey was completely thawed out. Pizza (no preheat) setting works like a charm. Throw in a frozen thick pizza in the oven under four hundred and twenty five degrees, and it's ready in eighteen minutes. Warm setting. Never had the feature with past ovens. Now cannot do without. There was one concern. I had read in the reviews that the oven had issues reaching five hundred degrees. Periodically, I have set the oven to that temperature. So far, no problems. I have tested it five times to date. To be honest, I have only had to use it to 450. But better to be safe than sorry. The "Hot Surface Light" should have been placed on the actual cook top, not on the display. This oven is almost a full win, with the exception of the poor cleaning option.

I've only used the oven a few times since being installed due to the hot summer days, but I love the way it heats up fast, cooks evenly, and all the options you can use to cook various foods. Absolutely loving this Range. Coming from a builder grade, entry level, GE range, this has been a huge upgrade. I love having the Slide In style versus the previous controls on the top back. Having the Slide In style helped reveal the backsplash that was thankfully installed fully. Having that space open has opened up my kitchen and makes it feel and look more spacious. There is a locking feature for the oven where controls won't be operational in the chance of accidental touch and/or to keep children safe. The cooktop is unique in all of the capabilities it has, which I look forward to utilizing all of them. The configuration of the controls and burners is quite unique, in a good way. The app is simple and was easy to set up. I got to use the remote oven feature while I was out getting a take and bake pizza last week. Pie in my face though, I didn't think about breaking in the oven and any first use protocols. I got home and immediately questioned whether there is a "seasoning" type of requirement (if you will) like grills require. Then the smell kicked it. There is. Wiping and running the oven for at least 30 mins. Pizza was delayed a bit that night... woe is me. This unit was highly researched as were multiple other brands, styles. I highly recommend this range! Oh, the Black Slate compliments Black Stainless perfectly in my eyes *chefs kiss*

Exterior Sides of Oven Excessively Hot

1. I've had the oven for two months. I immediately noticed that the exposed exterior sides become extremely hot during use, and the bottom drawer also gets very hot. Since the heating element is located beneath the oven floor, I'm concerned that the excessive exterior heat could potentially damage the adjacent cabinet sides. 2. Unlike my previous GE Profile model, this oven does not have a cooling fan that runs after it™€™s turned off. The absence of this feature may contribute to the high exterior temperatures.

First, I can™€™t believe GE sells electrical appliances with no cords! Bad enough I had to pay over a thousand dollars for the range, I had to pay $75 for a cord to plug my range in!! Absolutely ridiculous. Top frame Scratches easily. Don™€™t lean on the front panel if you reach across as you will easily reset something or knock out the oven temp while cooking. Electronic panel is very sensitive. Cooked scrambled eggs this past Sunday and used a nice fry pan. Did not shake it around. Yet when I went to clean up there are marks on the center of the burner that won™€™t come off. It does get very hot and the oven cooks quickly. Have not used convection feature yet. Nor the air fryer feature. Was told to call GE for service by the vendor who sold me this ™€œgem™€ bkz the rubber strip on the top front above the control dials is loose. I miss my old Magic Chef!!! Gave me 28 yrs of easy cooking and cleanup.

I upgraded from the previous model and I am very happy with this updated range. I am happier with the knob placement, the seal around the cooktop and the controls up front. The addition of the oven removable pan is an excellent idea.

While we've only had the range for a few weeks at this point, everything has exceeded expectations. It looks great and the construction of it feels solid. The dual cooktops are extremely useful in keeping everything a bit safer and the surface seems quite resilient compared to other glass cooking surfaces I've had.

We had to buy a new range as our other one that was only a few months old was ruined in Hurricane Helene. I only got to use it a few times so I hope this time works out better. I love the slide out, easy wash tray. There are also a lot of optional ways to cook, bake, roast & air fry.

Range works well; esp the sabbath and holiday modes. Would prefer to have a booklet provided by GE instead of having to download and print my own booklet with how to use all the bells and whistles that come with the appliance.

I gave this 3 out of 5 because the self clean is no longer available. You steam heat it and then have to wipe it out yourself. Also, you must download the app to set a time bake. You can™€™t do it by simply pressing the buttons on the stove. Silly! Both of these things seem like down grades and I haven™€™t found anything really helpful in an up grade from my old stove.

The stove is nice, but comes with too little operational information™€"I have no clue how to use the air fryer and convection oven based on the information online. It also came out of the box with a badly scratched handle and delivery of a new handle keeps getting pushed out™€¦first one month, then a week, then another month. Not happy about that.

Overall not bad, but some quality issues. And the front facing knobs can be turned on accidentally. This happened to us within the first few hours after installation and caused a fire. Not the best design.

So far the range works as expected. The cooktop control knob heat numbers are hard to read, my range hood lights and side kitchen window cause a glare so I wish the base color of the knob and the number color had more contrast. I like the German Schott ceramic top, seems well made. The pull out drawer under the oven is assembled incorrectly such that the front drawer sticks out 1/4 inch on the right side of the oven in when compared to the bottom of oven door. Dealer came out with new drawer and it is just as crooked. Side panels are not riveted square to the front. Obviously Heier does not follow GE 6 sigma quality standards They are have ordered a third drawer but I don™€™t have high expectations. If not for this cosmetic issue I would give 5 stars.
