Not sure about this model and brand. Had a similar one for only 2.5 years and quit working. This one has started making an odd noise now. Sounds like when they cut live electric wire at times. And there no butter like tray in the door.

This is a replacement of one we had for only three years before it broke. We went with it again because we need this specific size and finish. This newer model is missing ALL of the cool features of the previous model - at the same price as the previous one. No liners for the shelves in the door, not butter storage with dropdown tray, no special split in on f the shelves to accommodate taller bottles, no cool tray in the freezer door and no water dispenser. We will break our color scheme if this breaks again to avoid this disappointment.

This is the most unfortunate adult purchase I have ever made. We have had this fridge for three years and just had our second one stop cooling. It took 6 months to get the warranty replacement for the first one. Neither fridge has lasted over a year and a half. We will now see how long of a wait we are in for this time around. Thank god we got the extended warranty to have minimal additional costs, but what a headache! I should not have been having to clean out my fridge last night at 9:30pm while 38 weeks pregnant.

We were very dissappointed to find that we did not get the water dispenser inside the unit as we had ordered. We do not care for the outside dispenser due to grandkids playing with it, so we specifically ordered the unit with the dispenser inside. Found out that feature has been discontinued but no one had advised us of that fact, just deliverd to us without that feature.

After only 4 years freezer quit working. Service tech said refrigerant had leaked out. It was never moved at all™€¦to cause leak. Repair estimate was $1200 with no guarantee it would work. Paid $2800 and lasted only 4 years. Very wasteful use of resources. End up throwing away perfectly good cabinet, shelves, electronics due to refrigerant leak.

Disappointing so far. Freezer was crystallizing on day one and drawer did not close tight. Called for service. Service person said draw needed to be realigned. I had to call again because it™€™s not rolling without making noise but the freezing has improved somewhat but getting mild frosting on the edge of the draw. Also draw still feels loose. Service is scheduled for tomorrow.

It is a beautiful refrigerator. The plastic around the edges won't come off though so we are stuck wirh tiny pieces of plastic everywhere. The refrigerator section is great and convenient. The freezer section is a little small, but the bins are deep, so it is hard to organize it so you can find everything.

The drawers are not as deep as my last counter-depth refrigerator; they put the extra into the door trays. I would rather larger shelves and drawers. The bottom of the "climatezone" (whatever that is?) are not smooth (lot of nooks and crannies - I don't know why) so stacking my individual guacamole and apple sauce cups is problematic. The freezer tray and the bottom are also not flat - makes it very hard to stack things. What are you going to do? Once you have it, you're stuck. I guess I'm not real happy.

Avoid...looks are deceiving

I expected a high quality product. Aside from the appealing look, the rest of the fridge is junk. The trays are cheap and clunky. The fridge meat tray jumps track and jams every time it's opened. The fridge is set for 36 degrees but a thermometer I put inside always reads warmer, sometimes 10 degrees warmer in the "danger" food level. The bottom freezer door will not close. I have to manhandle the thing to shut it and then look on all sides to make sure it is actually sealed. Be ready to throw out your entire freezer when the door jams and your food un-thaws. The fridge runs frequently and makes a lot of noise. I regret my purchase and wish I had kept my old, cheap side-by-side.

Cooling System Failure

10-11 mos then quit cooling

we bought the GWE23GENBDS- yes, love the design & the ease at being able to find all our food - I can™€™t find it on this website, but it looks identical - I guess it™€™s the previous version? The first issue we had was about 4 mos ago, so only 7 mos in was that the ice maker was a solid block of ice. We turned the ice maker off, yet it kept pouring water in & the entire drawer was quickly a solid block of ice. A friend of mine helped me thaw it out. We found the solid ice over 1/2 way down from top of the freezer drawer that covered covered icy cold, but not frozen food at the bottom 6™€ - so we lost several hundred dollars in food. We had to use a shop vac etc, looks like the plastic piece that tells the ice maker when to stop making ice was a bit awry, when someone got ice, but turning it off didn™€™t stop it. yet it wasn™€™t making ice cubes, it was pouring water in & we couldn™€™t stop it. After the thorough defrost and clean, (1/2 day job) it made ice like normal, but just for 2-3 months. We aren™€™t sure when the entire fridge stopped cooling. 2 weeks ago, we noticed the temp was 61 on the indicator on the door when the milk was warm. Once again, lost a lot of food & have the salvageable food crammed into the 27 YEAR OLD Kitchen Aid in the laundry™€™ room which has never given me any problems. A 2-yo fancy Kitchen Aid died after 2 years before we bought this one to change brands hoping for better luck. I™€™m about to file a request for service as it™€™s still under warranty, but how disappointing- I™€™m not sure if China makes all their parts or why on earth we are subject to such inferior yet pricey products- such a waste of our time, energy and money as we are so solid booked with work, pets, health, our college kids & the seniors we are responsible for!

We like the look of the refrigerator and the temperature controls in the door. We like the spacious storage area in the doors and shorter depth of interior shelves, making food more easily accessible.

Best decision to continue with GE!

I have owned GE appliances for our entire 40 year marriage so I decided to stick with GE for our brand new retirement home. I love all the features and the lighting in both fridge and freezer is awesome. The ease of opening freezer drawers is especially helpful as we age in place. Love the darker stainless color which "pops" with my cream cabinets. We bought a suite of GE appliances due to our experience of GE dependability.
