Very deep tub

This washer seemed to do a good job cleaning clothes, but I found it to be very noisy. My main issue was the difficulty of reaching the bottom of the tub to remove clothes. My husband is 6'2" tall and he even commented about it. I ended up exchanging it for a different Maytag model which I'm very happy with.

Only owned this washer 3 years and have significant issues with it. July 11, 2023 - July 11, 2026, literally 3 years to the date it stopped working. First the valve inlet for the water failed and would fill very slow resulting in an error code. I was able to repair that on my own. Second, the impeller started making noise like it was grinding but not all of the time, just randomly which I bought a new pump in anticipation of having to replace that. Now it won't start, just stays on "sensing" and gives a humming sound like an electric motor is trying to run but not responding. It is sold as "commercial" technology but has been nothing but problems in quality. It washed well when it worked, had great capacity. But if I find out my bill to repair it is more than it costs to buy a new one, I will probably buy another brand.

I bought Maytag model MVW7230HC1 16 mos ago and I hate it. When starting a new load, hardly any water is released I the tub but the agitator starts and a washing cycle begins with hardly any water. It™™s not cleaning my laundry™¦ how can it without water! I can™™t lift the lid if I want to without canceling the whole cycle and wasting detergent I just put in. The sensor on this machine is not acceptable! The agitator doesn™™t move clothes around at all. I hate this machine. I wish I had never seen it or bought it. Maytag should be ashamed of it.

It always rips up our towels and some t shirts. We put it on the towel setting, but still rips up the towels. This is the second washing machine in less than 10 years. I always loved Maytag because they were built well and made to last. Not anymore so unfortunately the next machine will be another brand

We had a front loading washer for 15 years and switched back to this top loader. It saves any bending over, takes a huge amount of clothes, and runs very quietly. It is very easy to use, has multiple settings for different clothes, and is very efficient with the amount of water it uses. We are very happy with it.

This unit was purchased 4/2025 and failed 2/2026. Waited a week for a repair visit only for no one to come and company cancelled the appt. Called and they said they ordered parts (without diagnostic mind you) said 6 to 8 weeks! Meantime can™™t wash clothes. Called Maytag twice looking for help to be told pets are on back order and no good estimate can be given. Said will check status in 7 days (will be two weeks without a washer at that point) and 2000 customers waiting on the port ahead of me. This screams lemon product. Won™™t offer a loaner washer or laundromat reimbursement. Shame on Maytag. If you can™™t provide a part them your should be replacing. To expect a customer to go without washing clothes or spend more money to wash after already spending a ton on this unit is down right disrespectful. What happened to the days of customer service. My previous Maytag had the lid break in about 6 years and Maytag didn™™t offer that part either. Such a low line product anymore extremely disappointed.

This thing is a huge disappointment. Our previous washer was a Maytag that we had for almost 30 years with only a few issues that were easy fixes. This one starts washing long before the tub is full of water and because it is agitating with no to very little water the clothes get all twisted together, not good for the clothes. It does what the stupid programming tells it to instead of what we want it to do. On top of everything else it takes forever to wash a load of clothes. The Quick wash never fills with water, we have taken clothes out that had dry spots on them We

This was a replacement as the first washer decided to give up the ghost after owning it for only 1 year and 19 days. The replacement has already stopped working on the normal cycle and will not dispense any water which forces me to utilize other cycles in order to wash my clothes. Being over year old it is already out of warranty. So that™™s two washers in 3 years! Would not recommend and would want Maytag to reach out to me to correct this issue at no cost. Spending over $1000 on an appliance to only have it last without breaking in such a short time twice is unacceptable!

small drum the agitator top has fallen off while washing. Have to adjust items frequently. I might as well hand wash. I have always loved may tag but this particular pair I have purchased will prevent me from purchasing in the future. I am in process of trying to exchange these for a different model. I had my last set for 10 plus years. I would like to think y'all were the leading company on washing machine and dryers.

Going strong after 4 years, if it wasn't so noisy, and if the UI were not so complex, I'd give it 5 stars. Getting used to the noise, and had to spend a lot of time figuring out the User Interface, all the screens and buttons. Not very intuitive - clearly designed by a male engineer without REAL user input. It's 2025, and UI's like Apple iPhones - EASY UI's - is the baseline. Maytag UI's miss the lessons they could learn, just by looking at their smart phone, and asking a few users. (DON'T integrate with a smartphone - no one wants to remotely control their washing machine and dryer..., please don't make that mistake - no one is asking for that. INSTEAD, make the screens on the washer and dryer as EASY to UNDERSTAND as an iPhone is easy to use - one has to "be there" to load and unload clothing, add detergent, etc. - no need for "remote control" from a smart phone.)

I would not tell anyone to buy one because I had nothing but trouble out of this machine after having to have a bearing put in it. After that had electrical problems and factory tech told repair guy that it was my fault and they would not pay for anymore repairs.

Worst washing machine on the market. Tries to wash your clothes with little to no water in the machine as the agitator tears up your belongings. This machine cannot properly sense the appropriate amount of water needed. If this machine cannot be fixed with a firmware update it should be recalled. The downfall of Maytag, a once great company.

I really love the washer but I had no idea it would be the size it is and how tall it is; I have used a few times already and am satisfied with it. Although, I had hoped it came with more precise directions to use the washer, especially to tell how much each cycle would fill with water besides it being able to sense the load it is put into it. But I am satisfied.

wonderful....until the machine failed and needed to be completely replaced. <5yrs of shelf life and another $2000 spent. My machine was lightly used as well. They arent made like they used to be and they should remove the 10yr warranty sticker from the machine as false advertisement. Shame on you

The machine makes loud ™clunking™ noises. The drum broke the first time I put a small fabric dog bed in the washer. I had washed it many times in my old machine with no problem. Save yourself a huge headache, don™™t buy this washer.

This is the 2nd Maytag washer I have purchased from Whirlpool family and friends site.,my 1st washer lasted 3months shy of 4yrs and my 2nd purchase lasted 2 years. I did not purchase a warranty for the 1st unit but the 2nd washer I did in fear of the longevity issues Maytag seems to have. When my 2nd unit broke, the whole process took 6 weeks from beginning to end to receive my new washer. Needless to say I am very disappointed in my purchases and given my experience with Whirlpool (Maytag)Washers I will buy an alternate brand WHEN my replacement washer breaks.

I bought this and the matching dryer about a month or so ago. I can't use the smart option because our internet operates at the 5 ghz and it works with 2.4 only. I have a little trouble with bigger loads not spinning out correctly. Sometimes even smaller loads won't spin out all the way. It's quiet and clothes come out clean so overall Im satisfied just wish I could use the smart feature and I can wash larger loads without spinning twice.

When the washer is set to high water level or max water level, the washer starts washing dirty clothes with only a sprinkle of water. Some of the items aren't even wet! This has to be hard on fabric! So disappointed. Repairman stated that's what the machine is supposed to do. Stated the cap of the agitator comes off 8 out of 10 times, repairman just acknowledged without offering a resolution.

It was repaired but as soon as it™™s turned on I bangs and clanks like it™™s going to die any second. The guy fixing it said it was working correctly. Since owning this washer I have come to regret purchasing it. The only setting it will properly function on MOST OF THE TIME is Heavy Duty, Max Fill, Warm or Hot, Extra Rinse. No exception. If a different setting is desired, FORGET ABOUT IT. Clothes, sheets, rags, you name it, will come out covered in detergent. I have tried pods, liquid, powder, AND sheets when it comes to detergent. It does not matter. This thing will NOT get the detergent out. There have been times I have had to RE-WASH entire loads of laundry without detergent just to attempt to get the detergent out. Please understand, I have tried EVERYTHING. Small loads, medium loads, I have cleaned it with Afresh as requested. This is the worst washer, but it beats washing by hand when you dont have another $500 to $1000 to spend on a different one. So anyway, avoid it if you dont like wearing ten tons of detergent on your sleeve or pant leg.

We had just finished our house in the spring of 2021 and put this model in with other Maytag appliances. We had issues with our dishwashing machine only 2 years in. We waited it out as nothing was covered under the 10 yr warranty except motor. Then 2 weeks ago our washing machine grinded to a halt. We had it looked at and needed to have 4-500.00 in repairs when we could buy a new one for another 350.00 dollars. As long as the dealer was correct this is a fluke, will see though. We saved the trip cost and found the washer needed a mother board and are paying for that repair. My family has been die hard Maytag all my life, there may be a reason for the old ads to no longer be relevant. Only time will tell.

Washer started randomly filling with water on soak, even if turned off. Switches to other cycles in the middle of a cycle. Will start filling after a cycle ends when laundry clean. Have to unplug it to prevent.

Had this about a month. Every cycle except for Bulky, starts by not putting enough water in the drum and proceeds to activate the agitator and wash plate against my still dry laundry. I fear this is going to rip out clothing. Even using the deep water button EVERY load, the machine still initially does not add enough water and proceeds to slam around dry clothes against the agitator and wash plate. Eventually it adds more but only when deep water button was selected. Also with no owners manual it is difficult to understand this machine. I did NOT want a wifi machine. All I wanted was a regular agitator with Extra clean, a faucet feature and a large drum to wash a king comforter. It's also noisy.
